This is especially important to...pretty much everyone on the wiki, so listen up.
The U.S. Federal Law COPPA has been updated. What is COPPA? I don't know, Google it up. What I do know is that the updates have caused Wikia to discontinue anonymous editing on several wikis. Including ours.
Here's the point for unregistered users: if you wish to edit Slush Invaders Wiki (or most wikis on Wikia in general), you must sign up. While this does sound easy (and believe me, it is), you have to be 13 years old or older to actually edit the wiki. Otherwise, when Wikia catches up to you, you will be globally banned.
As for the rest of us who are already signed up, it's really up to you what to make of this. Me? I'm okay with this. Reduced chances of already low vandalism rates, and the contributor count should be about the same. Again, it's what you make of it.
This has been a public announcement from an admin that no one remembers. All because I believe this is relatively important to the point where it couldn't wait for someone else to announce it the next morning.
